Krystal Olejko-Qaqish | MSW, RSW (Social Worker)

Appointments available in: Toronto, Kawartha Lakes (Bobcaygeon) & Online

Hello, my name is Krystal.  In my journey to becoming a practitioner, I have obtained a Masters degree in Social Work from Kings University College at Western University, Bachelors degree in Social Work from the University of Victoria, Honours BASc in Justice Studies from the University of Guelph and a diploma in Law and Security Administration from Humber College.  I have used this educational background and life’s lessons to inform my work with clients.  My areas of practice include a variety of presenting concerns, which include anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship difficulties, and transitioning through life’s stages.  I work with children, adolescents and adults to help them achieve their goals while offering practical and evidence-based strategies.  My interventions include CBT, DBT informed care, and Crisis Intervention. I also offer Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapy to assist individuals with symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and other mental health challenges.  I offer secure video appointments to individuals whose life demands, geographical location, or schedule prevents them from accessing in-office therapy.

In my perspective, the therapeutic relationship is built on collaboration and client empowerment.  I believe that the effectiveness of therapy is a result of the expert knowledge of the client.  Think of a therapy session with me like a conversation with a good friend.  My approach is gentle, inviting, and compassionate.

I am registered as a Master level Social Worker with Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and a member with Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW).
